Hello, my name is Wei Xiu, from Beijing, China. My hometown is Bozhou, Anhui province in central China. I am now a visiting academic at the University of Manchester. My research interests are organic matter (OM)-mineral-microbe interactions, focusing on biogeochemical cycles in aquifers (including Fe, As, …) and using various analytical methods (DNA, RNA, SEM, XRD (general and Synchrotron), XAS, …).
Outside of the office, I like to stay active. I play badminton quite regularly (two-three times a week). I also enjoy exploring nature (via hiking or any other way), as well as the cities that I’ve lived in or visited.
